State Bank

30 Pentland Parade, Seddon 3011

This was the State Bank of Seddon. No longer a bank, the (almost) 100 year old building still stands at 30 Pentland Parade.

In the 70s the bank became famous in the national news when the branch was robbed by two armed bandits taking away a sum of $1,375 dollars.

The bank manager at the time was quick on his feet by dropping a dye capsule into the bag of money. The bandits then took a parting shot at the ceiling before fleeing.
